Client: New Zealand Steel Ltd 

Project Atom consisted of the installation of a new 4 strain Billet Caster and Ladle Metallurgy Furnace with an overall project budget of $56 Million.

As the head civil contractor we successfully undertook all forms of the build from:

• Extensive demolition of the existing concrete floors and

  foundations

• Excavation and prep for building works

• Piling

• Sheet piling

• Concrete foundations and floor slabs

• Large concrete support columns

• Construction of 10m high in situ concrete Billet Caster

• Construction of multiple masonry/concrete Transformer,

  Hydraulic, Electrical and Control Rooms

• Cooling Tower bunds

• Large scale roof replacement to Steel Plant

• Further enabling works
