Summerville Bros was single sourced by a local meat rending company to complete the civil and construction works for a new building to house 2x 100 tonne boiler units. Summerville Bros completed the predesigned foundations, slab works and provided a ‘design and build’ for the completed boiler house structure. Summerville Bros overcame ground complications due to the location of the construction site being on the slope of a hill. A complex foundation design and install of 15 meter steel driven I beams was implemented.

 

Works included:

- Project Management 

- Bulk excavation & prep of foundations

- Installation of 15 meter deep steel piles with 2 meter x 800 dia concrete capping and permanent steel casings

- Erected engineered formwork to contain capping beams and tie in with 600mm reinforced slab throughout

- Erected structural steel with inclusion of gantry crane

- ColourSteel cladding and roofing, installation of roller doors

- Supply and installation of holding down bolts

- Grouting to structure base plates and machine basses
